The American University Business Law Review (AUBLR) is accepting final manuscripts for its Volume 9 issues with target publication date in Spring 2020. The submissions are accepted on a rolling basis.
AUBLR is the first and the leading business law review in our nation's capital and looks forward to receiving pieces on a broad range of topics with a business nexus. Previous issues have included articles on the laws of corporations, intellectual property, white-collar crime and corporate compliance, tax, energy, fashion, international trade, labor and employment, securities, and cybersecurity.
For the upcoming issue, the Editorial team is looking for papers that align with AUBLRFall Symposium, which was held in collaboration with the Association of Corporate Counsel. The panelists explored the role of the general counsel in a modern corporation. Within this theme, we are especially interested in papers that explore the following topics:
· The general counsel’s role as a business leader
· The general counsel’s positioning as part of the C-suite
· The general counsel’s/legal department’s role in ethics and compliance
· The general counsel’s role in corporate governance and relationship with the board
· The general counsel’s/legal department’s role in risk and crisis management
· Views on the general counsel and legal/business ethics
· The regulation of general counsel and in-house counsel, specifically around attorney mobility and personal liability
· The value of attorney-client privilege in aiding corporate compliance efforts.
We welcome a variety of paper formats and are available to discuss any questions you might have about fitness for publication, publication process, article exposure opportunities, and how we can help meet your publication goals. Please note that we require that at least one author has a JD or advanced law degree from a law school located in the United States, preferably with five years of experience.
