Call for Submissions: Yale Journal of International Law 2024 Fall Symposium on international law and women's rights

The Yale Journal of International Law (YJIL) is pleased to open submissions for our Fall 2024 Symposium on international law and women’s rights. This Symposium will explore the ways in which international law interacts with women’s rights and lived experiences across a variety of contexts. We welcome submissions on topics such as feminist international legal theory; the effectiveness and potential of international law in enhancing women’s rights; and women’s participation in international law.

This Symposium will be held in New Haven on Thursday, October 24th at 4pm, and contributions will be published on YJIL Online in 2025. Please email submissions to yjil@yale.edu before Thursday, August 1st at 11:59pm.

Submission details: Submissions should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words. Sources should be hyperlinked wherever possible. Submissions should present an original argument or insight. Authors should submit their paper, as a Word document, and a CV.

Timeline: We will consider all work submitted before Thursday, August 1st at 11:59pm. We will notify authors chosen to participate before Friday, August 23rd.

Eligibility: Scholars, practitioners, and current PhD/SJD/JSD students are eligible to submit. Current J.D., L.L.M., and L.L.B. students are not eligible to submit.

Funding: YJIL will fund up to $1,000 for travel and one night of accommodation for each panelist.
