The Harvard Latin American Law Review (HLALR) invites authors throughout the legal community (academics, practitioners, judges, etc.) to submit unsolicited manuscripts for publication. Authors need not be professors, students, or otherwise in academia unless submitting formal legal analysis. HLALR welcomes submissions that offer a diverse perspective on legal issues affecting Latin America and the Latin American community in the US. Recent articles have addressed issues such as immigration, international trade and environmental justice. The HLALR is an annual publication.

For student note submissions, we suggest a length of 10,000 to 12,000 words with a maximum of 15,000 words. However, shorter pieces that are not the full note length may still be considered for publication.

Please send submissions by 09/15/2024 via the Scholastica platform or email us at hlalr@mail.law.harvard.edu (Scholastica preferred). Earlier submissions preferred. Submissions will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis. For formal legal analysis submissions, please include a cover letter and resume. Footnotes should comply with The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st ed. 2020).
