The University of Miami Law Review is seeking submissions for the Spring Edition of its online companion publication, Caveat. UMLR Caveat is intended to feature short essays by law professors, judges, practicing lawyers, and scholars from other disciplines to allow for the quick dissemination of the legal community’s initial impressions of important judicial decisions, legislative developments, and timely legal issues.
Additionally, Caveat gives authors the ability to publish their writing prior to preemption by other scholarly works or legal developments. We prefer submissions between 3,000 and 6,000 words. Submissions should be written in a style accessible to a general audience of practitioners and policymakers, while generally conforming to standard law review formatting and the 22nd edition of the Bluebook. Submissions selected for publication in Caveat will undergo an expedited editing process for publication in March 2026. Submissions should be sent by e-mail to Quinten Smith, our Senior Articles Editor, at UMLRSeniorArticlesEditor@law.miami.edu, in Microsoft Word format, along with the author’s CV.
We look forward to hearing from you!
